Continuing education can help propel your business success, clarify your goals and help guide you through difficult times. We asked your business community members which books they turn to for inspiration and support. In some situations the nominated book helped define their business philosophy, in other situations the book transformed their marketing strategy. I have compiled a shortlist of those recommended books for you. The range offers valuable advice for women across all areas of business and include recommendations from high-profile leaders such as Dr Lois Frankel and Dr Catriona Wallace. Discover which books have made a big difference.
“There are so many books, some quite old, that made differences.”One book that I read recently was The Male Factor: The Unwritten Rules, Misperceptions and Secret Beliefs of Men in the Workplace by Shaunti Feldhahn. In that book she interviewed hundreds of men in corporations and asked them: What’s it really like to work with women? What she found out was eye-opening. | |
“The time is now for female entrepreneurs.”One of my favourite business books is The Intention Economy: When Customers Take Charge by Doc Searls. This book is for anyone who wants to understand the future around the Internet and the customer. It is a great book to read, absolutely mind-glowingly insightful. It’s not really a dull business book. Learn more about Catriona Wallace’s favourite business book. |
“Just because we are getting older, doesn’t mean necessarily we are getting wiser.”I have been reading recently Man‘s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl. It proves to be a very powerful book. I have read it, I have re-read it, I quote it page for page. I really immerse myself. We all have to be like that, because everything is changing so dramatically, and just because we’re getting older doesn’t mean necessarily we are getting wiser. We must keep learning. |
