“One of the books that has influenced me most is Life in Half a Second by Matthew Michalewicz. The core message is that if you want to succeed (in life or business) you need to take action and you need to do it now. It’s not aimed specifically at entrepreneurs or business people but those who want to achieve their version of success, whether that’s in their business or personal lives. It sent a very clear message to me that it’s my time right now, and that’s a time I can’t afford to waste. I don’t want to die wondering, and this book is helping me follow my own adventure trail. I believe we go through life learning. Sometimes it’s from our mistakes, sometimes from our triumphs, and often it’s from others. I think as business owners it’s imperative to realise we’ll never know it all (why would we want to?) and that continual self-education and development is closely tied to our success or failure. I for one am a big believer of learning by doing – I’ll see what others have done, will try it myself, adapt it and mould it and hopefully at some point in the future I can educate someone else in turn. I think it’s a cycle we all need to be an active part of!”
