Department store blunders led to this award-winning business idea

Karaline Loiterton created Wedding List Co in 2003 following a less than inspiring experience with a department store registry. She says: “We were handed a clip board and sent off to write down 13 digit barcodes. With each new department we had to find a new member of staff to help us with any questions.” Karaline, who has a background holding marketing positions with big brand names such as:  Helena Rubinstein, Giorgio Armani, and Lancôme, Clinique and Estee Lauder, took her own nightmarish experiences of planning a wedding with those of friends and colleagues and identified a clear gap in the market for a service driven alternative.
