I ran my first webinar way back in 2006. After running an events business for the 13 years before that I was thrilled to find a way to run events without leaving home! Since then I have used webinars to generate thousands of new leads and to grow the number of customers we can reach. And I want to show you how you can do the same. Many of the small-business owners who have attended our webinars have gone on to be paying clients – members, course attendees and buyers of different products and services. Here are five ways that webinars have benefited my business and how they can help YOUR business. (Further down in this email I’ll let you know how you can learn to generate more leads and sales with webinars, too).
1. Generate New Leads and Prospects with Webinars
By offering free webinars you can attract new prospects to your database. You exchange some good information presented on the webinar for their details and then, if they are the right prospect for your business, nurture them towards being a customer. While a sale isn’t necessarily going to happen right away, you are building a relationship.
2. Use Webinars to Grow Your Profile and Your Authority
You have expertise that you could be sharing with a wider audience than you currently do. And if your expertise is a valuable way to sell your products and services then you can grow your profile by giving webinar presentations. Unlike in-person presentations you can run these events to a local, national or even international audience without leaving your desk. Not the expert? Bring on experts to co-present with you! It’s easy once you know how.
3. Generate New Content that You Can Repurpose
By recording your webinars you create a powerful tool that you can repurpose. You can transcribe your webinar to create articles, blog posts, social media posts and even an eBook – using the same valuable information in a different format. Strategic repurposing allows you to get your great knowledge into the hands of customers in a format and media that suits them best. Plus, you deliver the content once and use it many times.
4. Use Webinars to Answer Frequently Asked Questions
If you find yourself answering the same questions over and over again for customers you can use webinars to hold an information session to answer those questions ‘live’. This further establishes you as the ‘go-to’ person in your industry and showcases your expertise and commitment to your clients. You can also record and reuse the recorded sessions for new prospects.
5. Give Sales Presentations Without Leaving Your Office
Give your next sales presentation using a webinar and you’ll save yourself (and your customers) the cost of travel and the time to commute – plus you’ll be doing a little to help create a greener planet. With today’s webinar tools you can share screens, using interactive tools like polls, chats and live Q&A and, as is the case at in-person presentations, you can reveal information at the right time in the presentation – which works a LOT better than sending your whole sales presentation ahead of time. Some other key advantages of webinars are:
- Reach a greater audience than you currently do
- Engage participants through the use of interactive online tools
- Save money on face-to-face meetings
- Re-broadcast as on-demand sessions, that can be viewed again and again
- The technology can be viewed across multiple devices
