“I wanted to create something that reflected my values: strength, balance, and mindfulness.”
Sabina Ziolkowski founded Maianbar Yoga to return to the health and wellness space, where she feels alive and aligned. After many years in roles that didn’t light her up, Sabina realised that she wanted to create something that reflected her values: strength, balance, and mindfulness.
At Maianbar Yoga, Sabina helps busy women strengthen their bodies, calm their minds, and create balanced, fulfilling lives through yoga, breathwork, and practical wellness coaching – blending mindful movement with modern lifestyle tools that make wellbeing achievable every day.
And now, with The Practise Collective, Sabina is expanding that vision, offering a platform to support women on their health and wellness journeys. It’s about helping them change their relationship with stress, build resilience, and create the healthy lifestyle they want.
“Being part of the HerBusiness Network gives me exactly what many entrepreneurs need but struggle to find: accountability, inspiration, and community.”

And the access to business insights and shared experiences provides a steady stream of ideas and encouragement that helps Sabina to continue developing both of her businesses with more confidence and clarity.
Who’s your favourite entrepreneur and why?
Marie Forleo. I love how she embraces being multi-passionate. Her ability to blend creativity, business strategy, and personal growth is incredibly inspiring. She’s proof that you don’t have to fit neatly into one box to build a meaningful and successful career. I connect with her energy and her message that you can bring all parts of yourself into what you do, something I’ve also done through Maianbar Yoga and The Practise Collective.
Why did you start your business and what gave you the idea?
I started Maianbar Yoga to return to the health and wellness space, where I feel alive and aligned. After many years in roles that didn’t light me up, I realised I wanted to create something that reflected my values: strength, balance, and mindfulness.
Now, with The Practise Collective, I’m expanding that vision, offering a platform to support women on their health and wellness journeys. It’s about helping them change their relationship with stress, build resilience, and create the healthy lifestyle they want.
What do you enjoy most about running your own business?
The freedom to shape my days around what truly energises me. I remember recently teaching some extra classes for a yoga teacher friend on top of my already packed schedule. By the end of the day, I had more energy than when I started. That feeling of connection, of making a difference through something I love doing, reminds me exactly why I chose this path. I get to decide the direction, the pace, and the purpose, and that’s incredibly fulfilling.
What three pieces of advice do you wish you’d been given when you started?
- Start badly — start as a beginner. You’ll learn more through action than through overplanning.
- Look at what’s keeping you stuck. There’s always a lesson in resistance. It often points to an opportunity for growth.
- Find what’s working and do more of that. Focus your time and energy where you see results, not just where you feel comfortable.
What advice would YOU give someone thinking about starting a business?
Start before you’re ready. As a recovering perfectionist, I’ve learned that waiting for the “perfect” version of something only delays progress. The truth is, the people you’re meant to serve don’t need perfection, they need you. Start as a beginner, stay curious, and refine as you go.
What skills and knowledge areas would you recommend those starting out in business get acquainted with quickly?
Lead generation and marketing. Understanding how to connect with your ideal client is essential. You can have the best product or service in the world, but if you don’t know how to reach and engage your audience, it won’t make the impact it deserves. Learn how to communicate your value with clarity and authenticity. It’s one of the most powerful skills you can develop.
What does your IDEAL business look like? Even if you’re not there yet, what would it look like if your business was ideal?
My ideal business blends connection and scale. I envision a model in which I continue working face-to-face with clients (teaching yoga, running workshops, and staying closely attuned to their needs and challenges) while also building an online arm that allows my work to reach more women, wherever they are.
Through The Practise Collective, I’m developing online programs and potentially a membership community that combines practical health and wellness tools with the accountability and mindset support women need to create lasting change. It’s the best of both worlds: real human connection and scalable impact.
