At HerBusiness, we believe that when women support women, incredible things happen.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our latest round of contributions through Kiva.org – a nonprofit that provides microloans to women in disadvantaged communities around the world.
Thanks to the ongoing support of our HerBusiness Network members, we’ve now contributed $17,670 across 123 loans in 36 countries – and we’re proud to support 11 inspiring, entrepreneurial women from the Philippines, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Honduras, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
Each of these women runs a small business that helps strengthen their communities, provide for their loved ones, and pursue a future full of freedom – doing what they love every day. And for many women worldwide, that includes a thriving and profitable business.
While our day-to-day circumstances might be different from the women that we support through Kiva, our spirit and our goals for having a business are the same. We want to fund our lifestyles, support our families, contribute to our communities, and feel a sense of accomplishment.
All 11 of these women operate small businesses in their respective countries and have high ambitions for their businesses’ growth. Our loans will go a long way in supporting these women, who work hard to provide for their families and improve their overall living standards.
“Our circumstances may differ immensely to these women but our spirit and goals are often the same.”
