“I have the freedom to bring a bigger vision to life to build a community that’s values-led and purpose-driven.”
Danielle Bennett of All About Caring started her journey at 18 as a support worker, studying at university and working with people with complex disabilities. Three pivotal experiences early on shaped everything that followed.
A short placement in a nursing home left Danielle shaken by the conditions residents were enduring. Then came the heartbreak of watching her grandmother suffer preventable harm in aged care. Later, working in palliative care, Danielle listened to people tell her again and again that their home care wasn’t meeting their needs.
These moments built a fire in Danielle. She knew care could be done differently with dignity, empathy, choice and quality at its core. That’s why Danielle started this business: to create a better way.
What began in a modest two-bedroom apartment has grown into a service supporting people to live independently and with purpose on their terms, in their homes across the east coast of Australia. But that original commitment hasn’t changed one bit.
Danielle says “Watching people around me grow, thrive, and reach new milestones that’s the real reward. I love being part of that journey. It also gives me the freedom to bring a bigger vision to life to build a community that’s values-led and purpose-driven.”

Who’s your favourite entrepreneur and why?
I don’t have one single favourite — I learn from many across different industries. I believe growth comes from being curious, open, and constantly learning from diverse perspectives. Every business leader has something to teach if you’re willing to listen.

What three pieces of advice do you wish you’d been given when you started?
- Get a mentor early, someone who’s already achieved the kind of success you’re aiming for.
- Learn the foundations not just your industry, but how to run a business.
- Know your numbers because every decision is easier when you understand your financials.
What advice would YOU give someone thinking about starting a business?
Surround yourself with people who believe in you and have walked the path ahead of you. Trust, values, and shared ambition matter. Build your support network early, and make sure it’s filled with people who want to see you win.
What skills and knowledge areas would you recommend those starting out in business get acquainted with quickly?
- Learn about yourself first – how you lead, what drives you, and where you need support. Then learn how to build the team that brings your vision to life.
- Understand your numbers – it’s not about math, it’s about making smart decisions.
- Put systems and structures in place early – they’re the foundation for sustainable growth.
What does your IDEAL business look like? Even if you’re not there yet, what would it look like if your business was ideal?
My ideal business is one where people, clients and our team are thriving, not just functioning.
It’s a business where our clients are at the center of everything we do:
- They’re living the lives they choose, in homes that feel like home, supported by a team who knows them, respects them, and champions their goals.
- It’s a place where the team is connected, aligned to our values, and growing in confidence and capability.
- Where the systems and structure behind the scenes are strong enough to support innovation and does not get in the way of it.
- We’re known for the outcomes we achieve for people, the relationships we build, and the culture we protect.
- That’s the business I’m striving to build every day
