“I have been fascinated by property ever since I was a little girl on my dads boat cruising the waterways of the Mooloolah River in awe of all the stunning homes.”
Adrianne Miller is the founder of The Property Lifestyle Edit, a boutique creative agency on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. With over 15 years of experience creating high-quality visual content for the real estate industry, Adrianne is a self-confessed property and architecture addict.
After building her career in Melbourne and capturing the highs and lows of a dynamic property market, Adrianne returned home to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, bringing with her deep industry knowledge, a creative eye for detail, and a talent for helping agents present their listings at their best.
The Property Lifestyle Edit is a boutique creative agency that captures the essence of Sunshine Coast living for agents with luxury listings. Her amazing team offers photography, videography, drone footage, copywriting, brochures, floor plans, and high-end print design — all tailored specifically to the needs of real estate professionals.
Adrianne has been a HerBusiness member for 10 years and says she wouldn’t be where she is today without the Network. Over that time, she’s taken part in almost every program — including Mentoring, the HerBusiness Marketing Success Mastermind, Growth Groups, and The REACH Retreat in Hawaii, as well as actively engaging in events and courses.
“Being part of a community that I can relate to and seeing successful women who have been through the same struggles as me really gives me the motivation to keep going during the low times — and people to celebrate with during the highs.”
For Adrianne, the accountability and sense of community have been game-changers. “What I love most about HerBusiness is that while there’s so much information out there on business, the resources here are always structured in a way that focuses our attention on specific areas so we don’t get overwhelmed — which, in turn, leads to progress.”
Who’s your favourite entrepreneur and why?
So many to choose from! At the moment I’m loving Stephanie Postles from Mission.org. I listen to most of her podcasts especially love Expert Experience & Mission Daily. She brings the most insightful and up to date information and does not shy away from leaning into the feminine era we are moving towards and speaks to women’s intuition and spirituality and how it will shape business moving forward.
Why did you start your business and what gave you the idea?
I wanted to own my own business and work for myself since I was 26 years old after returning from travelling overseas for 6 years. I had no clue as to what the business might be so I got my certificate in Small Business Management and while doing so my class mates were really pushing me towards my passion for photography. So then I studied photography for 2 years, up-skilled and eventually combining my love for photography, creativity & business. I owned a few different businesses in the space before pivoting to an industry that was consistent for revenue – real estate and TPLE Property Media was born!
What do you enjoy most about running your own business?
Being able to dictate my own day, the excitement and reward I feel for building something that I can call my own. Living my life on my terms!
What three pieces of advice do you wish you’d been given when you started?
- Start with financial education first!
- Get help and be willing to listen, take on board and implement advice.
- Working harder and faster is not always the way to success. Work smart and plan – conserve your energy!
What advice would YOU give someone thinking about starting a business?
Go for it, there has never been a better time or opportunity for anyone to start their own business like there is now. There is so much support out there and you can make a business out of pretty much anything!
What skills and knowledge areas would you recommend those starting out in business get acquainted with quickly?
Financial knowledge and learning how to plan ahead and forecast.
What does your IDEAL business look like? Even if you’re not there yet, what would it look like if your business was ideal?
- Working 3 days a week on the business (not in the business!) have a team that can manage the day to day.
- Having enough revenue to travel when I want and invest in other areas we would like to.
- Running the business at a level that we can sell when the time is right.
