I wish I could recall who said this to me:- “Version One is Better than Version None”. (Whoever you are – thank you! and all credit to you.) What he (and I remember that it was a ‘he’) said was that throughput is the most important thing when it comes to moving closer to your goals. How many times have you wanted to get something absolutely perfect before launching it to the public?Whether an idea, a product, a business – so many of us get analysis paralysis rather than taking a breath and launching Version One… knowing that we can tweak later and improve whatever it is that we do. Yesterday – I put the question on my Linked In questions page. What’s the new year’s resolution that will most impact your small business? What I said was: I’ll start. Sometimes I can get really caught up in the day-to-day and lose sight of the big picture. Days pass and no work gets done on the really important (but not urgent) things. So, my resolution for 2009 is to spend time working on the important on a weekly basis. In fact, I’m going to carve out a specific time to work on these. What’s your impact-making resolution? I’d love to hear what it is so, let me know! And, happy new year.
