Trinette Schipkie is a partner of BTB Group of Companies, a company all about the marine industry. Trinette started in the business in 2002 as a bookkeeper and quickly grew a passion for the sand industry and what it creates. She loves all facets of the business, from the designing and building of the vessels, management of the vessels, management of the sand plant and, most importantly, research and development.
“Mentors and role models have played a huge role in my success,” says Trinette. “It was and still is an important part of my strategy moving forward to ‘bounce’ ideas and gain from other people’s experiences.”
Recognition of women Trinette Schipkie thinks that women in the industry that she operates in are not recognised appropriately or even on a scale, listened to.
“In the marine industry, it is very common that if you can’t actually operate a vessel, you can’t manage them.”
Trinette Schipkie has been inducted into the Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame in 2013.
