So you’ve set up your business, but now how do you successfully manage your accounts and finances? Sure, you could get a bookkeeper, but money is a risky business… especially when it is your own. To reduce business risk and wrap your head around financial management, the Australian Businesswomen’s Network brings you the Small Business Finance Course hosted by Karen Houghton, CEO of bookkeeping firm The Money Pennys Group.
“Finances are often for many clients the part of their business that causes the most stress- it’s a blind spot and as such really difficult to manage and navigate,” says Karen Houghton.
Running over the 4, 17 and 31 October, Karen will go through the three vital aspects that underpin financial management. Delivered in one 90-minute and two one-hour webinars, the course has been specifically designed for small business owners and business leaders. Attendees will feel more comfortable in negotiating business risk and numbers as Karen Houghton talks about the fundamentals of finances, such as the basics of management, goals/outcomes, sales and budgets that are delivered in an easy to understand way.
“My thing is to help clients use numbers as a real asset to help them make business decisions… even if the numbers aren’t so great now, the answers around how to change that is there hidden- and not too deeply hidden either!”
The second webinar will provide knowledge on profitability, cash flow and corporate business structures, while the final module will focus on bringing this information to life by giving practical advice such as what to ask your accountant or bookkeeper, making sense of reports, data and statistics, as well as becoming familiarised with relevant software and programs. The Small Business Finance Course will be broadcast live at the following times:
- 4 October at 10:30am- 12:00pm AEST
- 17 October at 11:00am- 12:00pm AEDT
- 31 October at 11:00am- 12:00pm AEDT
The webinars will be presented in an interactive format with live Q&A and access to resource materials, templates and links to useful sites and tools. For more information, visit the HerBusiness website.
