- Choose a project that is most aligned with your purpose and business goals to focus on
- Get a mentor and accountability network to support you and keep you accountable as you begin to gain momentum
- Establish sales and financial targets so you know what your idea of successful momentum in the future will look like when you get there
- Establish some realistic framework around the performance expectations you have for your business
- Be a student – always have at least one area of skills and knowledge development you are focused on as a business owner

Christine Taylor, Aussie Pooch Mobile
Christine knows a thing or two about building momentum.
Her business, Aussie Pooch Mobile, began in 1985 (when she was just 16), as a dog clipping and grooming service.
A few years later, Chris expanded this service to include mobile dog washing units travelling to customer’s homes. By 1991, she decided to franchise and became the first ever premier dog wash and care company in the world.
She now has over 200 Franchisees around the world in countries as diverse as Malaysia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Australia and the USA, employing 1000s of people.
Along the way, her breakthrough growth has been acknowledged with various awards, including 1994 Young Achiever of the Year, 1996 QLD Telstra Businesswoman of the Year, 2005 Australian Woman in Franchising and her 2012 induction into the Franchising Hall of Fame and her 2016 Induction into the Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame.
