This morning I completed the Commonwealth Bank’s ‘What kind of entrepreneur are you?‘ quick psychometric test to reveal what type of business owner I am (based on seven possible types identified in the test). The popular online survey has been completed by thousands of Australians and I managed to have a sneak peak at the results to see what drives us.
Are we risk-takers and innovators? Do we thrive on competition or achievement? Are we self-starters?
Seems I’m an Individualist and, according to the results, I like to do things my own way, I relish my independence and the freedom it gives me to act as I choose. Yep. That pretty much sums me up.
What this test showed me…
I’m a lover of learning and personal development. I like to explore the human potential. And, my own growth since I started my first business at age 26, has been the result of education and inspiration. Diagnostic tools like the “What kind of entrepreneur are you?” test allow us to take an objective view at how we behave in situations and to allow that information to educate our decisions. The test doesn’t define us. It informs us so that we can check in that our behaviour is in line with our goals.
Take the test. And learn more about your own style…
The test was developed by organisational psychologist, Kirsty Bucknell. Research suggests 7 factors contribute to your personal entrepreneurial orientation. These 7 factors help define the kind of entrepreneur you might be: Individualist, Learner, Achiever, Competitor, Innovator, Risk-taker, and Self-starter. You can take the test here (it took me under 5 minutes to complete it and to get the results). It may help you to understand your strengths (and weaknesses) in order to enhance the future direction of your business. Happy exploring, Suzi
