Mhmm.
You read that right. I cried meeting my Peloton instructor in person when I was in NYC.
This is moderately embarrassing and more than a little vulnerable to share, but who cares – I know you won’t judge me. Well, I’m hoping you won’t judge me;-).
I’ve been in the room with a lot of my heroes in the past. Richard Branson, Anita Roddick, Steve Jobs, freaking OPRAH. Who were all incredible. But for some reason, at this point in my life, they don’t hold a candle to meeting Jess King, my Peloton instructor (sorry Oprah!).
Jess has been the woman cheering me on from a tiny screen for almost four years now.
And though she might not know ME, I feel like I know her.
She’s been a cheerleader, a trainer, a motivator, a butt-kicker, a mental health lifeline, and a bringer of joy when I needed it most.
She was there motivating me in the months I prepared for my 29029 Everesting endurance hike last year…
She was there on the MANY occasions where I felt just too overwhelmed by life and the only thing that would take me out of my head was hopping on the treadmill …
She IS there every single morning as I prepare for our very first Business Trailblazers Hike in New Zealand (which, eeeeek, is JUST around the corner!!).
And as cheesy as it might sound, Jess is the reason why I have put myself out there to take on new challenges — both physically and in my business.
Because it is SCARY trying something new, it is SCARY doing something you never thought you would do. And we all need a cheerleader sometimes.
But having a motivator, a butt-kicker, someone who told me I COULD physically train and become my best self, I began to question my way of thinking.
To ask “Why NOT me?”
Why can’t I climb the height of Everest, if other people do?
Why can’t I travel the world to these amazing destinations?
Why can’t I do a multi-day hike?
Why not me?
It was because of motivators like Jess that I decided I could do those things. I could step out of my office. I could go for it.
So, anyway, back to me looking like a nut job at the workout class.
When I was in NYC recently, I decided to take a LIVE class with Jess.
And it was everything I expected. Fun. Fierce. Sweaty. Full of goodness.
After the class, I lined up for a photo with her, as is custom in the studio. And when it was my turn to meet her…
I cried.
Which was probably very strange for her (sorry, Jess!).
But I wasn’t crying because I was finally meeting her in real life after years of seeing her on a screen as I worked my ass off.
I cried because she has been that motivator, that cheerleader, for almost four years now.
Her classes have pulled me out of tough days, filled my ears with cool new music, and reminded me to show up for myself – again and again.
And in that brief, tear-filled, maybe a little awkward moment, I got to tell her just how much she meant to me.
So, why am I telling you this story?
I want to be your cheerleader.
I want to challenge you to PUSH yourself. To scream “Why NOT me!?”.
I’d love for you to join other women who are making themselves and their businesses better, and come on an adventure with me.
We are now taking registrations for the Business Trailblazers hike in Crete, Greece (WOW!). And, for the next few weeks, we even have an early-bird discount you’ll love.
We already have an amazing core group of women coming.
I want you to see exactly how you can challenge yourself, I want to see you on the coastlines, discovering new ways to elevate YOU and your business.
If you’ve seen the emails about the logistics and itinerary for the Crete hike, maybe you’re thinking…
That’s the kind of thing OTHER people do. Not me.
I’m not far enough in my business journey. I’m not the kind of person who flies across the world to attend a BUSINESS HIKE.
I’m not the type of person to do something crazy like that.
So, my question for you today is… Why not you?
If you’re considering this, if you’re nervous, if you’re worried that you’ll be too slow, or if you won’t belong, or if you’re worried those in your life will side-eye your decision to go hiking in Greece for a business retreat…
Let’s talk.
Tell me what you’re worried about, what you’re feeling, and why you think you don’t deserve to do something out of the box.
Because speaking from personal experience, when I finally said, “Hey, this is something I CAN do”,… everything changed.
In my personal life. In my business. In my heart.
I want to be your Jess King.
I hope I see you there. There are limited spaces on this hike with only 14 women joining us, just an FYI.
So, we’ll have a great time together, cheerleading each other on — both in the preparation and actually in Greece (I still can’t believe we’re going to Greece!).
Here’s to doing what you love,
Suzi
P.S. I’m serious about having a chat with you. If you’re doubting yourself, if you’re thinking, “that’s not me”, send me an email and let me know WHY. NOT. YOU.
