“The focus is on relationships and building a connection, and from that the business grows”
Seona Roberts of the Hooked On Crochet Club has always been crafty, but she didn’t discover her true craft calling until she taught herself to crochet in her early forties. It was then that Seona found all of the pieces of the puzzle of her life coming together.
Seona says “Crochet became my outlet for the stresses that being a mum to 3 kids plus a couple of foster kids while working full-time in a demanding job can bring. The rhythm of my hook and the feeling of accomplishment every time I finish a row or finish a project is the most stress relieving and therapeutic part of my every day.”
Learning to crochet sparked Seona’s creative side. She understood how everything worked and so started designing her own patterns and selling them online.
It wasn’t long before writing patterns wasn’t enough. Seona’s love for systems plus teaching and training others needed a new outlet. And seeing the struggles that so many other crocheters experience – like not being able to read a pattern – and knowing that she could help them, lead Seona to creating the Hooked on Crochet Club, allowing Seona to bring all of her skill sets together to teach and inspire others.
Seona shares “I find so much joy in seeing other women pick up a hook and make their first chain and then a short time later experience the joy and excitement from finally “getting it” and starting on their first projects.”
Seona is passionate about helping women find their joy in crochet so that the time they spend on the craft feels like selfcare. Seona sees crochet as more than just a hobby and wants to help every woman feel the benefits that crochet can bring! She does this through the Hooked on Crochet Club which is an online membership delivering crochet projects and tutorials.
Seona has been a member of the HerBusiness Network for over 7 years and shares that the thing she loves most about this network is that the focus is on relationships and building a connection, and from that the business grows.
