Edward Joseph Snowden, former employee of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and former contractor for the National Security Agency (NSA) was a presenter at this year’s South By South West Interactive festival. His session dealt with the mass surveillance of data and what that means for privacy at a global level as well as what each of us should know about the privacy of our own information. Snowden argued that the data collected by search engines is one thing, but that same information collected by government agencies can impact our security and privacy in big ways. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe4-gWvyVow Read more on a New York Times article on the presentation.
