As online marketing continues to gain popularity, marketing through print materials is becoming more and more rare. In the “Generating Leads Offline” MasterClass, HerBusiness Member Vivienne Kane shared why using print materials to market your business can generate leads and help your business grow.
Offline marketing tools can be used to make a lasting impression and create leads. Since making a sale usually involves multiple touch points, using a combination of technology and print materials helps people recognise who you are and what you do.
According to Vivienne, here are some reasons why you should market offline:
- Internet space is crowded – ads are everywhere on the Internet. Every time you log on to Facebook, your feed is loaded with advertisements. It’s easy to tune them out or forget about them
- Most competitors aren’t marketing offline anymore – marketing through print used to be the norm, but as technologically has progressed it has become rare to market this way, this gives you a chance to be noticed
- Marketing offline contains an element of surprise – don’t put all of your eggs in one basket
- Using a blend of online and offline marketing increase the chance of people remembering you or your business
So, what are some ways to market offline?
- Proposal document
- Brochure
- Checklist
- Postcard
- Business card
Using tangible media to market has many benefits.
On a psychological level, touch is processed by a part of your brain that connects with emotion – something many people buy on.
Once people are aware of you, the next step is keeping them interested. Print marketing creates a series of experiences that are interesting, informative, and surprising.
Remember that it’s not about pushing for a sale. It’s about making your business a magnet for the right buyers. When people are ready to buy, you will be the obvious choice.
The goal is to make it easy for people who might refer to you to talk about your business, talk about what you do, and to share details of your product or service.
Vivienne is offering HerBusiness Community Members a 30-minute evaluation of your print materials to determine how they could be improved so that they are doing the ‘leg work’ of bringing you new clients.
