Seona Roberts has a bit of a superpower for finding ways to improve things. Her passion for efficiency drives her at Succeed With Seona, where she helps small business owners learn what they really need to know about their business to make it run more smoothly.
Seona is no stranger to the business world, with a Masters in Business Administration and 15 years of experience in quality assurance in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry. She has plenty of experience in the fast-moving, tech-heavy world of biotech, and has been trained in both sides of the auditing process.
“I love that I get to use my skills in areas that I choose to use them in. I love the sense of achievement that every little win brings – from my first blog post to my first paying customer.”
Seona also has a crochet business, Honouring M.E. She taught herself crochet to honor her Grannie, and discovered a whole new world of yarn and a passionate crocheting community. She loves designing and creating new things. Her mission is to make fun, creative, new patterns that can be accessed by anyone and everyone. Her patterns are all written in easy-to-understand language, with both UK and US terms. She also has a made-to-order service.
Seona lives in Perth with her spouse. She’s a proud mother of three grown children and two younger foster children.
“My motivating word is joy. I use that feeling as a guiding light through my life.”
Seona’s Advice For New Business Owners
The same advice I was given: just do it. You don’t have to have all the answers straight away. Make sure you have a mission statement and a vision, and align all of your decisions with them. The rest will fall into place. Also, ask for help where you need it!
Advice Seona Wishes She’d Been Given When She Started
I’m very new, so it might be too early to say. Advice I am glad to have received, though, was to just do it. Stop waiting for the perfect moment, stop waiting to have everything lined up and in place.
Skills and Knowledge Areas That Seona Recommends Business Owners Get Acquainted with Quickly
I recommend being very aware of what you do and don’t know about your business and how you run it. Anywhere that you feel unsure of, seek help or learn.
We asked Seona what problem being a HerBusiness member solved for her. Here’s what she said.
My business is very new, so being a premium member gives me a platform to network with potential future clients, as well as a sounding board for ideas. I’ve learned a lot from the marketing training I’ve taken, and a lot of the information I’ve come across confirms that I’m heading in the right direction with my business.
