SENATOR FIONA NASH
Senator for NSW Acting Leader of the Nationals in the Senate Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Education Small businesses in NSW: 680,056*
What is your small business story?
“With the help of our parents in 1991 my husband David and I bought a property in Crowther, north of Young in NSW. We have a mixed farming business, cropping and a fat lamb enterprise, with also hay production.”
What has your experience with small business taught you?
“To cope with uncertainty. You never know what’s around the next corner in farming, and I think that applies to most small businesses.
You have to be able to adapt and adjust preconceived ideas to changing circumstances.
To know that when things are tough to try to focus on being positive. To work hard! To appreciate the opportunities in spite of the ups and downs that occur in small business.”
What message do you have for Australia’s small business owners?
“Future plan as well as you can, believe in what you do, be positive.”
