If you’ve got a list of clients that you’ve grown and nurtured and you feel as though you haven’t realised the full potential in sales from that email list… listen up.
Because this is a great way to extract value from your mailing list while adding loads of value to your customers.
More on that in a bit… but for now…
Let’s step back a second…
This card was on my food tray on my flight from London to New York.
US department store Bloomingdales offers a 15% discount to overseas visitors. It’s an ongoing promotion but few people know about it.
All you do is go to the Visitors’ Centre when you arrive and they give you a discount card to use during your vision. Plus, they give a bonus gift – usually a branded mug or something similar.
But this ongoing promotion is pretty low-key and some store staff remember to tell you at the point of sale, and some don’t bother.
Bloomingdales seems to have teamed up with British Airways with these little notification cards.
The discount offer is now definitely top of mind as I fly into NYC – and I’ll stop by the store at some point during my visit.
These little cards cost BA next to nothing to add this to its meal trays and it probably cost Bloomingdales very little to make the offer to BA for its customers.
A nice win/win.
Here at HerBusiness we often run partnership promotions with other educational companies – some of which might appear to be in competition with us.
They can take many forms, but the idea is to add value to our database while also adding value to our business.
We’ve found that these partnerships have helped us:
- Build our email list with more of our ideal clients
- Generate hot leads for upcoming courses
- Offer clients are complimentary product to the services we offer
- Earn a commission on sales of products or services that are a good next step for our clients
And it has been really risk free and low-cost way to drive business and to extract value from our database.
A couple of things that have been key to this strategy being effective for us is that we
- Only endorse products that we believe in
- Only work with organisations and thought leaders with similar values
- Know our client avatar and their needs and wants
- Understand that we are just one part of the whole picture as far as what our customers need to be successful
- Endorse the products we love
Getting started with partnerships
So, who could you partner with to leverage your customer list?
Could you do an email swap with someone?
Could you sell another’s product or service for a commission?
What product or service does your client use or need before or after they transact with you?
An Exclusive HerBusiness Premium Member Offer to Partner
A few times throughout the year we open up a partnership opportunity to Premium Members of HerBusiness.
For every registration that you bring to the course or event that you want to market, you earn a healthy percentage of the tuition as a paid $$$ commission.
That’s right – and that can add up really quickly.
But, why would you want to promote a HerBusiness program?
There are a few reasons:
- Customers have money to spend, but you don’t have anything else to offer right now.
- You’re looking for an easy way to top up your revenues without having to design, market and launch a new product
- You feel the course would really benefit your customers (and will thank you for the introduction)
- Sales of your own products have diminished and you’re stuck as far as where to go next (and you don’t want your existing customer database to become out of date)
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions:
But what if my business has nothing to do with marketing business programs?
Great question. Does your audience consist of people who need to market a product or service for their business or charity?
I wouldn’t know where to start?
We make it really easy by giving your sample emails and social posts that you can ‘plug and play’ with – you can make changes to suit your style or use them ‘as is’
I don’t know how these campaigns work. I’ve never promoted something like this.
This is a great way to get behind the scenes of a complex marketing funnel and launch and to better understand online marketing and affiliate marketing
