The Australian Businesswomen’s Network today announced member Belinda Weaver of Copywrite Matters as its Member of the Year for 2013. Belinda has been an active member since joining the HerBusiness Network and has made the most of her membership over the last 12 months, pursuing opportunities available to members and also sharing her knowledge and expertise generously. In 2013, Belinda blogged for the herBusiness blog on effective copywriter tips and strategies, her most popular post being The Most Powerful Word in Marketing, took part in StartUp Month, a four-week campaign to support women new in business. Belinda also presented the Practical Online Copywriting for Business course, which she’ll present again in March/April of 2014. Through her participation, she has made valuable contributions to the entire community. Here’s how Belinda describes herself:
“I have more than a few years chalked up as a marketing consultant and I really love the process of putting a strategy together. I’ve worked for global corporations and local businesses and have done everything from re-branding and strategy development through to campaign design execution and event management. So I know what it takes to make a big idea happen. But my specialty is marketing copywriting. I uncover your brand voice so I can select the right combination of words that makes your target market STOP and come back for a second look..”
Copywrite Matters will help you inject some personality and action into your marketing, creating a message that really talks to people. The people you need to talk to. Belinda describes her passions:
“Marketing is my career passion and copywriting is my big love.”
Belinda Weaver’s advice for starting a business:
- Dismiss social media at your peril! If you aren’t familiar with social media, learn it and get to know it.
- Don’t forget to keep up with face-to-face networking opportunities. They are good for your confidence and good for business.
- Learn how to do things yourself before you outsource. You’ll have a much better understanding of what’s needed. You’ll also value the work being done.
We congratulate Belinda and thank her for her contribution to the Australian Businesswomen’s Network community.
