My business partner and I booked a weekend there in 1998 to do some planning.
And it turned out to be one of the most significant weekends of our lives.
We already had a 6-figure business at the time and we’d had some success.
But we knew there was a LOT more potential in our business that we just weren’t tapping into.
Mostly because we were so busy all the time. Neither of us could put our heads up for long enough to do any kind of planning or strategic thinking to make a change.
You know the drill.
We were so stuck working IN the business that we didn’t have time to work ON the business.
Until this glorious crisp winter long-weekend when we stole a few days away to do some planning and dreaming in this lovely little blue house.
It was during that weekend that I finally said out loud, “I want a million dollar business”.
There’s something powerful about saying your really big ‘dare I want it?’ goal out loud.
It immediately felt more REAL.
And by the end of the weekend, we’d actually written $1 million in the sand – a symbol and a sign of things to come.
Sure enough… that year we went from a 6-figure business to a 7-figure business! And within another couple of years, we grew way beyond that to an 8-figure business…
And it all started with that one weekend where we were able to take some time out to think bigger.
To get out of the rut and think about what we REALLY wanted.
During our stay in the little blue cottage, we used a very specific process to help us get clarity and focus.
It’s a process I’ve used over and over to create almost every major outcome we’ve ever had in business.
It’s also a process I’ve used to set and achieve almost every big goal I’ve ever had over the past 25 years.
It’s so powerful that I can honestly say learning this has been worth many millions of dollars to me.
