“Try, you’ll never know unless you try. And, you know, if you go out there and you do something that lights you up, you’re gonna make money at some point, but without trying, you are not gonna move forward.”
Tina Hay of Puzzle Media has a background working in marketing agencies in London. She worked with agencies with large clients who were investing hundreds of thousands of pounds in marketing.
16 years ago she moved to Australia to work for the marketing team of Foxtel. Having felt burnt out, Tina left Foxtel and decided to start her own business. She started her business in 2010 as a one man band working from her dining room table.
Two months after starting her business she found out she was pregnant with twins. Having already a two-year-old and an 18-month-old at the time, life was incredibly hectic. The trajectory of her business was very slow and steady.
Tina started using social media just as people were starting to get into it themselves. She focused on LinkedIn to connect with people and build her audience and client base. Quickly, Tina realised that Facebook was starting to become a bit more popular.
She sought out leaders in the industry at the time. Tina learnt from experts like Amy Porterfield, Kimra, and Marie Folio. There has not been a year that has gone by that Tina has not invested in some kind of social media learning to keep up with the latest kind of trends and tactics.
After 13 years, Tina’s business is still going strong. She has built a team of eight people in addition to a team of contractors. Puzzle Media works with clients all over Australia as well as international clients.
Tina’s team at Puzzle Media helps passionate small to medium business owners grow their business by supporting with marketing and advertising strategies and services that deliver results and allow their business and communities to expand.
