Sangeeta Thaker of S R Legal Group started her legal journey in Australia in 1999 when she joined a commercial law team in Mildura, North West Victoria, after working as a junior in-house shipping lawyer in Singapore. Sangeeta swapped boarding ships with boarding houseboats.
During her time in Mildura, Sangeeta gained valuable experience and found her passion for working with property developers.
In 2008, Sangeeta moved to Melbourne and since then, has worked in several mid-tier firms with strong property teams, building expertise across industries.
With the support of her family, Sangeeta achieved accreditation as a property law specialist in 2013 and completed a Masters in Construction Law in 2018, all while managing a full-time job, running her 2 girls to their various performing arts activities and gratefully taking opportunities to travel and see the world.
Sangeeta shares “Corny as it sounds, I love what I do – always have. I love being on the tools and teaching others Property Law tricks and tips and have taken every opportunity to continue to be able to do so.”
Now, Sangeeta brings over 21 years of property law experience in a multitude of fields and a knack for making things happen to the table for every one of her clients.
Sangeeta’s business, S R Legal Group, helps busy and value-conscious property investors, developers, landlords, tenants and owners corporation managers by providing easy to understand and implement legal solutions so they can achieve their property portfolio goals.
Sangeeta has been a member of the HerBusiness Network since 2022 and loves the accountability being part of the network provides. She says “Seeing the success stories has spurred me on. By showing up and speaking up, I quoted for and received approval for a high-paying client.”.
Though practicing law is one of Sangeeta’s great passions, you will also find her living life to the fullest while spending time with her two daughters and travelling.
