Michelle McEwan, founder of Michelle McEwan Consultancy, has worked in the childcare industry for over 25 years, bringing extensive experience to her role. Her diverse roles, including Family Day Care Coordinator, OSHC Director, Quality & Compliance Advisor, State Educational Leader, and National Quality Framework Manager, have equipped her with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and legislation relevant to childcare.
Michelle’s expertise extends across various organisational structures, from for-profit to small community-managed setups, affirming her comprehensive grasp of the industry. She is particularly passionate about Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs), regulations, assessment and ratings, continuous improvement, and ensuring educators feel supported.
Michelle is renowned among her peers for her down-to-earth demeanour and her ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and approachable manner.
Michelle is an experienced childcare consultant supporting all childcare service types to develop a meaningful quality improvement plan to support changes in practices when working with the little people in their care.
Michelle provides a variety of services for childcare providers in Brisbane and Australia. Her consultancy specialises in tailoring solutions to fit each client’s needs, covering compliance orders, Quality Improvement Plan reviews, Service and Management Support, Professional Development Training, and one-on-one sessions for Quality Improvement Plans.
Michelle recently joined HerBusiness to expand her small consultancy into a financially stable and sustainable venture. In just a short time with the Network, she’s made valuable connections with fellow members in her industry. Michelle said these connections have been amazing in offering her the guidance, support, and knowledge necessary for her business direction and growth.
Michelle enjoys baking, sewing, and crafting, along with spending quality time with friends. She finds joy in op shopping, recycling, and upcycling, always searching for exciting loose parts resources for children to play and explore with. Despite living far from her grandkids in Perth, she cherishes the moments spent with them and her husband, often exploring Australia in their motorhome. Michelle is also a proud supporter of the NRL Broncos.
