For Maaike van Besien of Maaidesign, it all started with her quest to dress her kids in clothes that didn’t look like they rolled off a conveyor belt. Frustrated but far from defeated, she whipped out her sewing machine, and oh, what fun that sparked!
Maaidesign is now a cosy corner of the internet, run by a fabulous team, where sewists of all stripes come to find their next sewing project. Maaike helps women who are passionate about sewing, to create clothes in the style that they want through collections of high-quality fabrics and sewing patterns, available in her online store and through her membership program called Modern Makers.
Maaike’s mission is to get her community as excited about their next sewing project as she is about curating her collection.
