Loren Bartley of Impactiv8 is a #BusinessAddict with 25+ years experience helping businesses leverage technology, build communities and achieve success. She has a Masters in Business and a passion for teaching, something she has done in every role she has ever had, whether that be as a lifeguard trainer or CEO.
Loren is the CEO of Impactiv8, a Digital Marketing agency that helps small businesses who are already on social media, have attempted Facebook Ads and have a sales funnel in place get a better return on investment from their social media and online marketing.
Loren achieves this via strategy development, online and offline workshops and done for you digital marketing management services, as well as her digital marketing and social media conference Click Engage Convert. Loren is also the co-host and producer of #BusinessAddicts The Podcast.
Being a HerBusiness member has helped Loren raise her profile and connect with other female business owners that need help with their digital marketing. It has also provided Loren with a community of like-minded women that she can call upon for guidance, support and accountability.
Loren says she is a business addict, and loves all things business, but is trying to balance that out with regular workouts at the gym (she loves lifting weights) and being creative. Loren gets a real kick out of creating cards and giving them to those people she cares about.
Who’s your favourite entrepreneur and why?
Suzi Dafnis. She epitomises the ideal entrepreneur. I love that she is building her business, whilst helping others do the same. This is what I am doing also and it is great to be able to follow her lead and be inspired by her success.
Why did you start your business and what gave you the idea?
I started my business back in 2011 when social media was just starting to prove itself as a useful tool for businesses. I had always been an early adopter, techie, into marketing and loved to teach. So I started Impactiv8 as a social media education agency, teaching small businesses how to leverage the power of social media to market their business. Over the years it has grown into a full service digital marketing agency, offering training, coaching and done for you services across the areas of digital marketing strategy, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Email Marketing, Website Optimisation, Content Creation Outstanding Offers and Social Media.
What do you enjoy most about running your own business?
Helping businesses to scale profitably using the digital marketing strategies, tactics and tools that are best suited to their unique circumstances.
What three pieces of advice do you wish you’d been given when you started?
- Everything will take a lot longer than you expect.
- Build win/win strategic partnerships to help grow your business.
- Don’t hold off on building a team too long. Hire before you can afford it. If you hire well, they will pay for themselves in no time.
What advice would YOU give someone thinking about starting a business?
Don’t try to go it alone. Surround yourself with people that genuinely want the best for you and will support you to achieve your endeavours, and learn from those that have gone before you. Success leaves clues. Follow them.
