“I have always been ambitious and wanted to live life on my own terms”
Jayne Day of Webonize has always been ambitious and wanted to live life on her own terms. Jayne started her first business, a thriving Real Estate Property Management partnership, at the age of 26, and since that time has had two other successful businesses, including Webonize.

When she suggested that I should start to charge for my mentoring it sparked an idea and Webonize was born 13 years ago.

What three pieces of advice do you wish you’d been given when you started?
- To be successful in business there is a lot more than just strategy. Mindset and personal development plays a huge part in growing a successful business.
- Running your own business is a continual rollercoaster. There will be many rough days but there will also be so many good days. Your WHY has to be strong enough to keep you going through the bad times.
- It isn’t enough to just have a good product or service. You need to know how to sell yourself and position yourself in the market.
What advice would YOU give someone thinking about starting a business?
Do market research first. Ensure that what you want to offer is something that is wanted by your ideal clients or customers and make any tweaks based on that research.
What skills and knowledge areas would you recommend those starting out in business get acquainted with quickly?
Marketing, copywriting and lead generation.
What does your IDEAL business look like? Even if you’re not there yet, what would it look like if your business was ideal?
My business gets closer and closer to being the ideal model for me although as I get older the thought of what ideal is does change slightly. My ideal business is a mix of working 1:1 with clients while also being able to help a wider audience with my online courses and digital products.
