“I saw so many smart, successful women launching podcasts but struggling to grow or convert them into real business opportunities.”
Gab Burke of Podcast Glow Up started her business because she saw so many smart, successful women launching podcasts but struggling to grow or convert them into real business opportunities. With her background in media and podcast production, Gab knew exactly what was missing.
The idea for Podcast Glow Up came from wanting to bridge that gap. Gab helps female entrepreneurs turn their show into a platform that builds influence, attracts clients, and finally gets them seen and heard in the way they deserve through one-to-one coaching sessions, in Sydney or online.
Using her media and storytelling skills in a way that directly impacts other women, Gab loves to help them grow their confidence, find their voice, and build a platform that opens real doors. “It is incredibly rewarding to see my clients succeed on their own terms, knowing I have helped them step into their power and show up as the expert they already are.”
Gab wants to see more women at the top of the podcast charts. Podcasting is still dominated by men, and she is determined to get more women into this space.
Gab recently joined the HerBusiness Network and has discovered a way out of isolation and second-guessing. Gab shares “It gives me access to smart, generous women who are running real businesses and facing similar challenges. I get fresh ideas, trusted feedback and constant inspiration. It’s a place where I can grow, stay accountable, and connect with people who genuinely want to see me succeed.”

Who’s your favourite entrepreneur and why?
Payal Kadakia is my favourite female entrepreneur because her journey is the perfect example of resilience, humility and strategic thinking. She started with a bold idea called Classtivity, which completely flopped. But instead of giving up, she listened to her customers, kept iterating, and built ClassPass, a product people actually wanted. I admire how she let go of her original vision in order to serve her audience first. Then, once ClassPass was a success, she used everything she had learned to return to that original idea and make it work. That mix of adaptability and long-term vision is what makes her so inspiring to me.
Why did you start your business and what gave you the idea?
I started my business because I saw so many smart, successful women launching podcasts but struggling to grow or convert them into real business opportunities. With my background in media and podcast production, I knew exactly what was missing.
The idea for Podcast Glow Up came from wanting to bridge that gap. I help women turn their show into a platform that builds influence, attracts clients, and finally gets them seen and heard in the way they deserve.
I also want to see more women at the top of the podcast charts. Podcasting is still dominated by men, so I’m determined to get more women into this space.
What do you enjoy most about running your own business?
Using my media and storytelling skills in a way that directly impacts other women. I help them grow their confidence, find their voice, and build a platform that opens real doors. It is incredibly rewarding to see my clients succeed on their own terms, knowing I have helped them step into their power and show up as the expert they already are.
What three pieces of advice do you wish you’d been given when you started?
- Price yourself correctly and don’t lowball yourself. When you’re starting out, it’s easy to undercharge because you’re afraid of scaring people off or feel like you need to prove yourself first. But low prices attract the wrong clients and undervalue your expertise. Price for the transformation you offer, not just your time. Back yourself from day one because it sets the tone for everything that follows.
- Join HerBusiness. Trying to build a business alone is exhausting. Joining HerBusiness gave me access to smart, generous women who had walked the path before me and showed me what was possible. Surrounding yourself with women who understand your journey is the fastest way to grow. They don’t just cheer you on, they raise the bar.
- Start talking to people, not just friends but real potential clients. One of the biggest shifts for me was getting out of my own head and into real conversations. I spent too long trying to perfect things in isolation. But once I started testing ideas and asking questions, I got insights I could never have uncovered on my own. Co-creating with real people is where the magic happens.
What advice would YOU give someone thinking about starting a business?
If the idea keeps tugging at you, follow it. You do not need all the answers to start a business. What you need is the courage to listen to that voice inside that says this could be something. Start small, stay curious, and talk to people as you go. Clarity comes from action, not perfection. Trust that if the idea chose you, you are the right person to bring it to life
What skills and knowledge areas would you recommend those starting out in business get acquainted with quickly?
Go in with an open mind and stay open to feedback. You don’t have to get it perfect, but you do have to get it out into the world. The more you talk about your business, the clearer your message will become.
Get confident with the basics of marketing early. Know who you’re speaking to, what problem you solve, and how to communicate that clearly. Your message is the bridge between your business and the people who need it.
What does your IDEAL business look like? Even if you’re not there yet, what would it look like if your business was ideal?
My ideal business offers flexibility, creativity and impact.
I’m not there yet but the goal is to work my own hours, focus on high-return projects in short, powerful bursts, and have plenty of downtime to recharge and create. I want to run group coaching programs, twice-yearly retreats, and a high-level membership. I’m building a talent agency for female podcast guests and coaching women to become in-demand, booked-out voices on the shows that matter.
What problem does being a Member of the HerBusiness Network solve for you and your business? And, how?
It solves the problem of isolation and second-guessing. It gives me access to smart, generous women who are running real businesses and facing similar challenges. I get fresh ideas, trusted feedback and constant inspiration. It’s a place where I can grow, stay accountable, and connect with people who genuinely want to see me succeed.
