“The work you do is important, and it deserves to be well-resourced.”
Barbara Brangan of Grantful is more than just a grant and tender writer. She’s a social impact enthusiast and a master at securing the funds needed to make a difference. The reason she’s so committed to her work is simple – she’s genuinely passionate about creating positive change, and she’s incredibly skilled at it.
Barbara helps Directors, CEOs, and Founders of Australian-based charities and social enterprises to win lots of funding via grants and tenders through virtually-delivered grant writing & winning services that replace stress with success.
Over the last 8 years, Barb has become the trusted go-to for Australian-based charities, social enterprises, and mission-driven businesses. They seek her out when they need to secure funding to expand their innovative programs for maximum impact. Her secret sauce? She has a gift for persuasive writing and a wealth of experience in forming strong partnerships. She doesn’t just write grants and tenders; she wins clients through her winning proposals.
In 2019, Barb took a leap of faith and ventured into the world of freelance grant and tender writing. Since then, she’s secured over $14 million in funding for various projects. These initiatives span critical areas such as national youth suicide prevention, mental health services, reducing recidivism, preventing domestic violence, and creating learn-and-earn programs for refugees and at-risk groups seeking employment. She’s also excelled in aged care tenders in NSW, QLD, and across Australia.
Grantful offers three main services:
- Grant Submissions to Scale Programs: This service helps organisations scale their successful programs by providing program design, grant application support, and training.
- Grant & Tender Writing: This is Grantful’s core service and they consider it an art form. Barbara’s dedicated team collaborates closely with clients to create compelling grant and tender applications.
- Grant Readiness Mentoring: This service involves a two-part mentoring program where Barbara provides expert guidance on grant submissions. It includes an initial evaluation and a review of a draft submission.
Barbara’s services primarily cater to nonprofits, charities, social enterprises, and mission-driven businesses, offering them support in securing funding for their impactful projects.
Barbara’s life and work are heavily influenced by her professional training in Dr. Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry approach. This method places empathy and understanding at its core and applies a trauma-informed lens to communication and mentoring.
Born in Ireland, when Barbara isn’t creating compelling funding proposals, she enjoys engaging in thought-provoking conversations with purpose-driven people, who care about big issues like the universe, society, and health. She believes in practising what she preaches as an everyday philanthropist. She’s proudly part of Impact100 Sydney, a fantastic group working for positive change.
Her interest in Human Design and astrology has played a significant role in her success. Barb’s a 1/3 Projector, and she’s recently completed her studies in trauma with Gabor Mate. Currently, she’s studying counselling part-time, balancing her time between her work and studies.
Barbara has recently become a Growth Group leader at HerBusiness and she heads a fantastic group named “CEO’s with ❤️.”
