Almost everyone at some point in their lives questions what life is about and the purpose of being here. As you develop your intuition, most people will begin to experience subtle changes in their life. These changes may lead you to examine your life with new eyes.
Every one of us enters this life with lessons to learn and those lessons learnt can then be gifts to give. As we develop our intuition, we are guided toward discovering and fulfilling our higher purpose in life. That higher purpose can be quite literal, the sharing of the gifts we have learnt.
How do you discover what your true passion is?
What gets you excited?
Ask yourself what do I like to do? What would I get a kick out of? How do I have fun? Most people only think about starting a business for the money; if you are living your passion, money will follow. If you were in a room with a whole lot of people and there were a few groups of people talking on different subjects and you can overhear each topic, which group would you be most interested in joining in on and what would that topic be that fascinates you?
Think back to your childhood:
What were you good at as a child? One way to help you discover your passion is to go back to your childhood as if you had an affinity for it during childhood.
Take a great look at your talents:
You have a gift of something if it is something you love to do. You are not built to love something that you don’t have a talent for. If you stick around just passing day by day doing something you don’t love to do, something will just not feel right and you may never know what is wrong, however something is always wrong. To determine what your talents are, brainstorm on a sheet of paper the things you are good at, the things that come natural to you. If you find this task difficult ask your closest friends/family that you trust what they think are your best skills.
Your fantasies can tell a great deal about your passions!
Try this quick exercise to help you follow your true path:
- Follow any impulses that you have that reflect your passions of your true work/play/creative desires. Even if your ideas seem totally unrealistic, follow through with your impulses and have fun with it, be adventurous and see what happens.
- List all of your fantasies you have had involving your passions for your career. Once you have written all of your lists, write beside those fantasies what action steps you must take to achieve these fantasies.
- Write an ideal scene. Imagine that you are living your dream job now. Write exactly how you want your future to be as if you are living it now. Put in enough detail and description to make it seem very real. Once you have your ideal future drawn out put it away and then come back to it after a few months. Once you realise what your true passion is chances are that you will have made significant progress in the direction of your passion.
- Make a large poster with pictures cut out from magazines of your future life. Hang this poster in your home so that it reminds you of what you want to create for your life. Each month, take a look at the poster and check if you have made any steps towards your future life. Look at it often and let it inspire you to move forward.
Many people do not follow their passions due to creatively blockage, fear and money. True happiness only comes when you are doing what you’re most passionate about. You have gifts to help others, so what’s holding you back? Overcome your obstacles, break through your fears and start pursuing your passion today. To live your best life and pursue your passions takes great support and encouragement. Surround yourself with people who will support your dreams, be there for your down times and be there share your excitement.
I know for sure that every person in the world has a purpose for being here-a calling. The work of your life is to discover that purpose and get on with the business of living it out. The only courage you need is the courage to find and follow your passion.

Does it fill you up or leave you drained? Forget what everyone else wants for you. This is not your mother’s or your best friend’s journey. Your role is not just as your husband’s wife, your boss’s employee or your children’s mother. Only you were there for all the significant moments that hold the clues to your calling.
We were all born with a burning fire inside us, but beginning in childhood, we let others snuff it out. Passion is the log that keeps the fire of purpose blazing. Your work now is to find that fire and rekindle it-and then to let it burn again.
