If your question is not answered, be sure to email us here.
How does mentoring work?
Mentoring is conducted via Skype in one-hour sessions. You can learn more about the HerBusiness Mentoring program here on our website.
Are mentors paid?
Yes, each mentor is paid a fee per session. The details will be outlined in your Mentors Agreement.
How do you choose the Mentorees and Mentors?
Mentorees are men and women in small business. The program is open to anyone who currently owns or operates a full-time or part-time business.
Mentors may be men or women who have owned and operated their business for a minimum of five (5) years in Australia. Mentors can be located nationally, even globally.
How do Mentorees get matched to a Mentor?
Mentorees are matched to Mentors who have expertise that matches the Mentoree’s program goals/objectives and who are in a non-conflicting industry to that of the Mentoree. Mentorees complete a questionnaire that outlines their short and long-term objectives for mentoring.
If there is a problem with a match, we aim to resolve it as quickly as possible and find more suitable partners if necessary.
What is the duration of the mentoring?
One-on-one mentoring is available in 4, 8 or 12 sessions at a time and on dates set by mutual agreement between mentor and mentoree. The minimum is 4 sessions and we recommend monthly sessions. Each mentoring session is one hour in length and is conducted via Skype or telephone.
80% of HerBusiness mentorees choose to extend their mentoring relationship and add more sessions.
How do mentors and mentorees interact if they don’t meet in person?
Mentoring can be conducted face-to-face or via Skype or telephone. The choice about how you meet is determined on an individual basis and depends on availability and location. Our goal is to match the mentoree, regardless of location, with the most suitable mentor who can help them achieve their business objectives.
Most mentors choose to use Skype for their mentoring meetings.
What is the cost of the program?
Mentoring packages are available in bundles of 4, 8 or 12 one-hour sessions. Refer to the HerBusiness website for current pricing.
The mentoring service is backed by a 30-day, 100% Money Back Guarantee.
How much time will it take to participate as a mentor?
There are a minimum of 4 mentoring sessions per assigned mentoree of one hour each throughout a 6 month period.
We expect that there will be a minimum of five hours required per mentoree (4 x one hour mentoring session plus 15 minutes administration per session (scheduling, preparation, invoicing, reporting).
It is possible to mentor more than one individual at any given time, dependent on your time availability and capacity.
Throughout your tenure as a mentor, you will be invited to participate in a range of HerBusiness programs, such as HerBusiness Roundtables, webinars, courses and networking events. To build and maintain a solid understanding of HerBusiness, its education and training programs and its community, you will be expected to participate in a minimum of three such activities per annum.
Other than that, the amount of contact you have with your mentoree is up to you and your inclination. You may speak more frequently on the phone or email. It is up to whatever you decide.
What is the term of my Mentoring Agreement with HerBusiness?
The initial term is 12 months from the Commencement Date stated in the Mentoring Agreement you signed. By mutual agreement, the term will automatically renew for further 12 month period on each anniversary date of the Commencement Date.
Can I choose who I want to mentor?
Once you have completed the HerBusiness Induction and Training Program for Mentors, individual Mentorees may be matched to you on the basis of skills, experience, specialist know-how and availability.
There is no guarantee of matching to a Mentoree/s. Allocation of Mentorees to Mentors is solely at the discretion of HerBusiness.
