So often we send one-off emails — an order confirmation, a tax invoice, a newsletter.
The magic in email comes when you introduce email sequences. By sequences I mean a series of purposeful emails designed with a particular outcome in mind – to either attract, convert or keep your ideal clients.
There are three specific email sequences you could be sending to really boost your profits. The three emails sequence must-haves are:
Lead Magnet Attraction Sequence
This is how you get people to say yes to your lead magnet – whether that be an ebook, a free webinar, a report, an estimate or quote, a free trial or a strategy session — whatever it is that you use as a lead-in and entry point to your sales funnel.
Sending one email and hoping for the best will not get you the same results as having a well-thought-out sequence that takes the customer on a journey towards the solutions that you offer.
New-Client Nurture Sequence
The first few days after someone buys from you are crucial. Often we’ll send a quick ‘thanks’ email when someone first transacts with us – whether that’s signing up for our newsletter or buying something. We quickly move into delivery mode.
A great way to prevent buyers’ remorse is to set up an automated nurture sequence of emails that nurtures a client in these early hours and days.
Setting up a way for your customers to get to know what to expect, to feel welcome and that they’ve made the right decisions is a GREAT way to build relationships in those early days and get them really excited about the action they’ve taken.
Cart Abandoned Sequence
A huge percentage of your website visitors get 90% through the sale before quitting. You have probably done this yourself either because you got distracted by a phone call, a crying child, an email or some bright shiny object.
But it doesn’t have to mean lost sales if you set up a simple (automated) follow-up system to remind the customer that they were interested and to offer support in completing the transaction.
Get these three things right and you’ll be well on your way to converting more leads into clients and keeping new customers happy and engaged.
