In this months Master Builder, Sam Sheppard, Sunshine Coast businesswoman, was recognised as part of Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame, which honours top female business owners. The article explained that the Hall of Fame seeks to recognise such women because female entrepreneurs don’t receive as much recognition as their corporate counterparts or male peers.
HerBusiness CEO Suzi Dafnis stated that the women, including Sheppard, were chosen because they are “excellent role models to other aspiring female business owners.” Through the Hall of Fame, they can share their stories, to inspire and empower others.
Sam Sheppard is celebrated by Master Builder because of her spearheading the innovative “Women into Building” initiative which saw Australia’s first sustainable home designed, constructed and supplied primarily by talented women representing most vocations in the building industry. Sam joins 150 other women that the Australian Businesswomen’s Network has recognised as outstanding female business owners. The full article can be found in the April-May edition of Master Builder.
