Do you really know who you are and what you’re here to do?
There are approximately 8 billion people in the world today. I imagine it like a huge jigsaw puzzle – each piece is a person. Every piece has a specific spot to fill, custom designed just for that one unique piece, no one else fits it as perfectly as the one piece.
The problem is, sometimes, we see another space and think, “That’s where I want to be: great career, great pay, great life!” We only see the surface of that position from one dimension. We may eagerly shuffle along to that spot and although we don’t quite fit, we will give one almighty shove to stuff ourselves into that space regardless of the pain it causes or the gaps it creates.
Ahhh yes, we are here! Okay, so there is a corner that juts out in this space that continually presses in our stomach or temple causing cramping or headaches, but we are here!! There is also that breezy part toward the back where we don’t quite fill the space and every now and then have to shove back down those desires of a life less complicated. BUT, we are here! We have the finances and the view, let’s not think of the cost!
The cost not only to health and relationships but to the person who IS custom built for the spot we are in? What about the people around us who we are being uncomfortable because our unique shape is not supposed to be in this space jutting into their backs or temples?
If we all chose a position we thought would be great for us, even though it wasn’t our custom designed space, what would the bigger picture look like in the 8 billion piece jigsaw? I’m pretty sure it would be unrecognisable.
For some, it’s not the desire of another space that holds them back from their unique position. It’s fear and doubt that they are not good enough to be able to fit the space created for them, so they never fully try, settling for a much lesser position than that which they were designed for. Thus, also adding to the muddle of the bigger picture!
The beauty of this puzzle is that there is a perfect place for every piece. A place that fits like a custom-designed glove, a place that fulfils every desire and every need all at once.
If we would just give ourselves permission to find it – permission to live a life of love, happiness and fulfilment. Imagine if we would ask ourselves the question, “What do I really want?” and answer honestly.
To all you brave souls who have found your perfect place, I honour you! To those still looking, I encourage you. We all need each other to create the perfect spaces for this amazing 8 billion piece jigsaw puzzle!
