The online library of pregnancy and birth information is growing bigger by the day. With more and more information flooding the Internet on what you should and shouldn’t eat, what you should wear, how you should put your child down to rest, etc. parents and parents-to-be can easily be overwhelmed. Additionally, the reliability of information is often called into question, with many websites providing information with little to no credibility.
Pregnancy and baby expert Corryn Barakat aims to change this with her Milk and Love Village podcasts. The podcasts include expert interviews on pregnancy, birth and baby, and contain up-to-date, evidence-based information to empower parents to make confident decisions and enjoy their parenting journey.
The Milk and Love Village podcasts were launched simultaneously with a new website – the foundations for a community for parents wanting evidence based information and access to a village of like-minded people.
Milk and Love began as a small business sourcing stylish and sustainable breastfeeding and maternity wear, but has since evolved into a nurturing and educational community for parents.
The website and its contents provide free information to potential members who may then choose to upgrade to a paid membership, which allows them access to premium content and connection into their village forums.
Corryn’s advice for women thinking about starting their own podcast:
“The greatest benefit to me so far is having a great excuse to sit down with some amazing people and talk to them about topics we’re both passionate about and get their wisdom out in front of an audience of interested people.”
