HerBusiness Member Natasha Hawker recently launched HR consultancy Employee Matters Pty Ltd in response to what she saw as a real need for SMEs to have assistance with their HR Practices and Employee Engagement levels. Natasha has over 17 years experience within HR, her expertise being in recruitment, employee relations, training and termination. “SMEs need to understand the importance of good HR practice in every aspect of their business. When people think of HR, they normally think about recruitment or when a difficult conversation with an employee arises. There is a lot more to it than that however,” says Natasha.
“Having a purely reactive approach makes it difficult to maximise employee performance. With the introduction of the Fair Work Act and Modern Awards, getting the legalities right is even more pertinent and extremely important, particularly for small to medium businesses.”
