It’s Monday morning…
… are you dreading the start of the working week?
Or are you delighting in it – excited to be getting back to a business you love?
Maybe you switch between the two?
What I’ve learned after 23 years in business is that the BIG difference between the highs and lows of business is NOT related to tactics and strategies…
One of the MAIN things that could be holding you back from getting the results you want is MINDSET…
And today I’ve written you a LOOOOOONG MESSAGE… but I hope you will take the time to read it… I’m sharing some big lessons that I’ve learned that I hope help you too…
It’s a bit of a love letter to you – because I know what it takes to run your own business – it can be the BEST and WORST thing you ever do!
And I REALLY want to help.
For me, starting my own business was a HUGE leap… I was 27 and had just been made redundant in my job and I had $400 to my name.
And my partner and I really had a lot to learn… (that’s code for “we really didn’t know what we were doing and we made a few really big mistakes when we started”) :-)
…and it took us a couple of years to recover from a few doozies of mistakes that we made.
There was even a point early on where I thought maybe being in business wasn’t for me.
And WORKING HARDER just wasn’t getting us where we wanted to be.
GO BACK TO JOB OR DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY – “WHO CAN HELP ME?”
So I thought “OK – You can go back and get a job or you need to suck it up and take some action.”
But I knew if I went back to a job I’d be going back to how things were and I really did love the idea of the freedom and flexibility that being my own boss could offer. I really did BELIEVE that things could be different.
And so I decided to take some action…
…and that action was “who can help me?”
I went out and I found the people who were ALREADY doing and succeeding at what I wanted to learn how to do and succeed at.
I sought them out and paid for their support and did their trainings and studied their work.
And you know what… things DID change… what I was learning DID make a huge difference to the results we got.
MY “CARPARK” MOMENT
And it reminded me that EVERY time I’ve created a big shift in my business, it’s taken me stepping out of my comfort zone and taking some kind of action around learning something new…it’s taken me asking the question “how I could do things differently?”…
There was one particular time that REALLY stood out when doing things different REALLY paid off…
A friend had suggested I do this business training course. And I remember it was $700 to do the course and that just seemed like such a huge sum back then… and I ALMOST didn’t go.
I remember I got all the way to the carpark outside the venue where the training was being held.
And I was sitting there in the car with my best friend debating whether we’d go inside or whether we’d drive off and spend all this money we were holding in our hands on a fun weekend in Melbourne.
But something inside me just connected to this idea that I wanted a change in my life – I wanted to find a way to do things differently when it came to my relationship with money…
So, I went in, paid the money and…
…had THE MOST AMAZING weekend.
It was one of those life changing experiences.
I met someone at that event who went on to be a business partner, and with my existing partner, PJ, we went on to create a couple of multi-million dollar businesses that changed the trajectory of my life – and gave us financial security and an amazing time travelling the world and working with people that I loved on projects that I really believed in and that were making a huge difference in other people’s lives.
And that course was where I learned the importance of system, marketing, having great team, leveraging your self in business – and so much more.
And when I look back at that moment in the carpark when I had the choice between going into that training course or taking off to Melbourne – I am SO glad I didn’t take that trip to Melbourne.
I am SO glad I was able to believe that things could be DIFFERENT.
Because that’s really the choice that I had there – do what I’d always done, or make a decision to do things differently.
IT’S THE SAME FOR YOU
And it’s the same feeling when I think about YOU and ALL the members of the HerBusiness community… I see people who, like me, have likely had their own car park moment… who have believed they could do things differently – and who have taken the decision to put themselves out there and invest their time and money in learning how to make a shift… not just for learning’s sake but to help them STOP making the same mistakes over and over like I was doing and to start having the life they really want.
SO WHY AM I TELLING YOU ALL THIS?
Well, you’ve been following along with all the information we’ve been sending about how you can turn your leads into sales and create a marketing system that supports you to get more income and customers, but you still haven’t joined us on the Content Sells Master Course…

…and I want you to ask yourself – are you also scared to believe that things could be different for you when it comes to having all the sales and business that you want?

Because if it is – I want to be the person for you who tells you that it’s totally possible. That things really CAN be different for you.
Especially when you make a commitment to doing things differently.
Like I did that day in the carpark. And like you’ve already done so many times before to get to this moment.
