Founder of MPOWER Leadership and Co-Founder of The Posify Group, Mariane Power has been striving to effectively put positive psychology on the map. With a Masters in Clinical Psychology, Mariane has been initiating personal and strategic growth in individuals for 15 years. Mariane has a passion for working with the next generation, powering them with skills to drive into the work force with solid minds, big hearts and the skill set to succeed.
Mariane works one-to-one consulting social enterprise founders, helping them maximise their potential and develop the determination and courage to lead their teams. She noticed that positive psychologies were having a smooth and solid impact in her business. She decided to scale the idea and started the Posify Group, an “edutech” company that implements positive psychology and design thinking to teach the upcoming generation strategies to thrive in the workforce.
Mariane has extended her reach to supporting various not-for-profits such as the Luminosity Summit, Ambisie, Project Gen Z and Dyslexia Mid North Coast. These organisations share a commonality of driving the 21st century education to produce a flourishing generation of leaders in the workforce
What Mariane Enjoys Most About Running Her Business:
“It gives me the opportunity to wake up every day and know I have the potential to make a solid impact in the world.”
Mariane’s Advice for New Business Owners:
- Understand your purpose and intentions
- Invest early in your personal development
- Know your skills and strengths
“One of the biggest challenges for women in business is the perceived need to wear many hats, and what comes with that is a lot of undue stress.”
Self-care is essential for Mariane to maintain balance while in business. Her investment in psychology taught her to optimizse and maximise ‘the gap’. When moving from hat to hat, it’s crucial to take a micro gap between the tasks and build tiny habits of self-care whether that’s taking a minute to think about your next task or walking a lap around the office after sending an email. “There are practical, everyday strategies for self care that make a big difference and help women do their best work in the world,” says Mariane.
As a member of the HerBusiness Network, Mariane is hoping to scale positive psychology strategies that can be implemented by businesswomen. She looks forward to creating authentic connections and speaking to members on a regular basis. Mariane values having a shared space with like-minded people to access curated content and valuable feedback and share her own professional development.
Mariane’s favourite entrepreneur is Annabelle Chauncy, the Founding Director and CEO of School for Life. With a vision to educate poverty out of existence, Annabelle started the not-for-profit organisation to build schools and provide education in rural Uganda. Mariane was instantly impressed by her philosophy to empower communities using their strengths and skills. “She’s a massive thinker and a massive doer with the biggest heart,” she says.
