Belinda Weaver of Copywrite Matters had been in business for a while, she had built a stream clients and was starting to figure out how to run her business, helping copywriters of all levels, aspiring to experienced and business writers, to write copy.
She came to a point when she decided she wanted to get help from more experienced business owners and to make the most of networking.
“When I started my business, networking meant making connections to do business. Networking now means building relationships that give me support in other areas not just in the financial area of making a sale.”
Belinda shares that those relationships have turned into clients for her — many times over.
“I’ve actually written copy for a number of the HerBusiness Network members and I’ve got those connections through, not only being part of the community online, but my connections through the Roundtables.
I didn’t turn up necessarily looking to pitch my work, but when you build relationships with people, and you’re the person that they know in a certain area, it just becomes a natural progression.”
And that’s the power of a Connection Network – one where you are known and where business comes more easily because you’re well connected.
“I’ve always got the feeling that if you turn up, Suzi and the team will help you. If you ask for help, you will get it from Suzi, the team and the community as well. It’s a really, really responsive group if you turn up and get the most out of it.”
“I get support from HerBusiness all the time. I get support from Suzi all the time and that has been from when I joined HerBusiness right up until now.”
When Belinda’s husband got the opportunity to work in Silicon Valley, Belinda and her family moved from Melbourne to San Jose, which is a little south of San Francisco. And, Belinda was able to maintain her network connections and the benefits of being a member.
“Living in the U.S., I access HerBusiness online. That is, you know, how I get the MasterClasses and all the other education, how I access the Online Roundtables. It doesn’t matter that I’m not in Australia anymore, I still get to jump in and access all the good stuff.”
“I think the Roundtables have always been a huge benefit for me, just turning up and getting advice from people in other industries, because you never know where good ideas and solutions are going to come from.
And then more recently the MasterClasses. I’m finding it useful to dive deep with experts.”
