The Australian Businesswomen’s Network is proudly featured in The Metropolitan Attachment Program 2012 report as one of the many credible companies who offer work experience for students from Hong Kong Baptist University. Since 1998, The Metropolitan Attachment Program has provided over 2,300 opportunities for the international students through a cultural exchange and global life with work experience. The involved countries include Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The program aims to “enhance students’ greater self-understanding as well as to formulate their own personal development across six domains: intellectual; physical; professional; psychological; social; and spiritual.” Yuki Chen Qiqi is studying China Business Studies, and recently completed a work experience program with the Australian Businesswomen’s Network. Her daily tasks included preparing criteria-based data for marketing email campaigns and setting up new events in CRM to be displayed on the website.
Recalling her experience with The Metropolitan Attachment Program and the Australian Businesswomen’s Network, Yuki says:
“I have gained various practical experiences that have improved my project management abilities, communication skills and computer proficiency.” “… the harmonious atmosphere… as well as the patience and trust from my friendly colleagues have helped build up my confidence.”
The Australian Businesswomen’s Network continues to support the personal and intellectual development of the diverse range of students who come from all around the world. ABN Community Director, Suzi Dafnis, says:
“It’s a great honour to have students from Hong Kong Baptist University visit and do work experience with us. We’ve recently also had students from France, Italy and the United States. They learn what it’s like to work in an Australian business, and they get involved in all aspects of the organisation in order to build their knowledge of the real world of work.”
