Whoa!
I’ve been working towards writing this post for a number of months.
And now the moment is finally here!
As I write this, I’m feeling a range of emotions – excitement, gratitude, anticipation… and my mind is racing faster than I can type – there are so many things I want to share with you all at once.
So, maybe we both need to grab a cup of coffee (or tea, or whatever your favourite beverage is) and sit together for a few minutes, so I can fill you in on what’s been happening here behind the scenes these past few months.

We are changing our name!
I am very proud and excited to reveal that, after more than 27 years as The Australian Businesswomen’s Network, today we are changing our name to HerBusiness.
Why The Name Change?
This is a decision I’ve been sitting with for quite a while.
In fact, when I look back, the HerBusiness name has really been making it’s presence known, in one form or another, for over a decade…
It was the name of our printed newsletter (for those of you who remember that!) and it’s what we christened the Australian Businesswomen’s Network blog when we started it in 2008.
Some of you may know I also host a HerBusiness podcast where I interview interesting and inspiring women in business and it’s also the name we gave our YouTube channel when we first launched it 8 years ago.
And we recently named our brand new 12-month program, the HerBusiness Marketing Success Mastermind.
What I realised was, I have, for a number of years, felt this growing sense that HerBusiness was becoming a name that more accurately reflected the identity of this amazing community.
And it was at a strategy planning day almost a year ago today, that I became really clear this change was exactly what we needed as we start laying foundations to help women in business to grow, connect, learn and thrive for the NEXT 20 years. ☺
The HerBusiness name reflects and embraces a number of key ideas…
Ownership
HerBusiness is Your Business.
As a woman who owns her own business, you’ve done something special. You get to decide the life you want. As a business owner, the buck stops with you. It’s your business and your vision. There is a great sense of pride and accomplishment (and a healthy dash of trepidation!) to be felt as you step into owning your own business and you want people around you who will support you every step of the way.
Connection
Her Journey is Your Journey.
Not only can you learn from your own business journey, but you can also learn from “her” business journey… those women in the HerBusiness community, including members, those we celebrate, interview and who lead our courses and programs, are all a vital and valuable network to help you grow and evolve.
For Women
Her Story is Your Story.
Women business owners are still at the centre of our world. Whilst we love male entrepreneurs (and welcome them into the community), the education, the stories, the support you will find here are all developed specifically to help female entrepreneurs reach their goals and live the life they love.
Global
Her World is Your World.
Whilst the name Australian Businesswomen’s Network has served us well for 27 years, it has connotations of an association (which it’s not) and, whilst we are still passionately focused on serving Australian women business owners, HerBusiness more accurately reflects the fact we have people from all over the world accessing our online trainings, becoming members and wanting to get more involved. Plus, we have, for years, supported women in business in developing countries as well as accessed the best thought leaders, authors and teachers from around the world. We believe keeping an international perspective is going to become more and more important as new technology makes the world smaller and smaller, breaking down boundaries and opening up new, more global opportunities for us all, wherever we are.

New Look, NEW Website!
Along with the name change, we’ve also completely re-designed our website, this website, from the ground up. You will notice a lot of changes when you browse the new site. Plus, you’ll start seeing some extra new features being added over the coming weeks and months, including a BRAND NEW Premium Member Directory.
Designed to make it easier for Members to connect with and support each other, and for us to continue to bring you the best business education from around the world, we’re excited to share the new site with you!

We’ve got more updates on the changes coming over the next few days and weeks, so keep watching this space for more info.
The time really does feel right for a change.
For me, this shift is really about bringing us into line with an identity we were already moving into.
Much like other changes in our lives, it came into view gradually and then suddenly became crystal clear.
I hope you love the new name (and new look!) as much as we do.
One thing is for sure, whatever our name is, we’re always going to be all about helping you create the business and life you love!
