HerBusiness blog, was today announced as the winner of the Business Category in the national Best Australian Blogs Competition 2013. After being finalists in the competition for three years in a row, we were ecstatic to get top honours in our category in this year’s awards. A million thanks to our readers, blog subscribers and to the herBusiness bloggers who write and share from their own entrepreneurial experience.
Well-authored blogs are the new media. When delivered by authorities, in any genre, blogs provide a reliable source of timely information. And, they are easily digestible on a multitude of devices. They are also quick to update and immediate to publish. While the herBusiness blog is, uniquely, authored by women small business owners, the readership includes both men and women from all over the country. Competition coordinator Rose Powell said:
“The herBusiness blog is a source of inspiration and ideas for many business people. Suzi’s built a wonderful community around her work.”
The overall national winner of the Best Australian Blogs Competition for 2013 is Sneh Roy, a Sydney-based food blogger, with her blog Cook Republic. Five category winners were announced:
- Lifestyle/Hobby (408 entries): Cook Republic by Sneh Roy, NSW
- Commentary (119 entries): AusVotes2013, edited by Paula Matthewson, ACT
- Personal/Parenting (350 entries): Reservoir Dad by Clint Greagen, VIC
- Words and Writing (161 entries): Read in a Single Sitting by Stephanie Campisi, VIC
- Business (84 entries): ABN herBusiness
The category judges are: blogger and political commentator Greg Jericho (Commentary); veteran publisher Marina Go (Lifestyle); Random House managing editor Brandon Van Over (Words and writing); Columnist and author Kerri Sackville (Personal); and business commentator and coach Robert Gerrish (Business). The People’s Choice Round winner is Chris Lang, blogger at Home I Own: with 1,468 votes, VIC. The public cast over 16,350 votes in this round.
