Two Hall of Fame inductees were featured in Pro Bono Australia’s news, “Philanthropists Enter Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame”, on 25 February 2014. Eve Mahlab AO is the mother of Karen Mahlab, founder of Pro Bono Australia. She and Carol Schwartz AM have been recognised for their Not-for-Profit and business achievements. Eve is involved in Not-for-Profit work as Chairwoman of the Australian Women Donors Network, a small company aiming to diminish disadvantage experienced by women and girls. Carol’s work as founder of the Women’s Leadership Institute Australia deals with the alarmingly small amount of women in leadership positions. Each year the Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame serves to recognise the notable achievements of women who have been exemplary in their industries. Eve Mahlab and Carol Schwartz have demonstrated inspiring Not-for-Profit endeavours. Pro Bono Australia functions as a hub to initiate engagement with Australia’s many Not-for-Profit organisations and community.
“The Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame recognises the notable achievements of Australia’s stand out female business owners. Across the board, female entrepreneurs don’t receive as much recognition as their corporate counterparts, not to mention their male peers,” HerBusiness CEO Suzi Dafnis told Pro Bono News.
“The women in our Hall of Fame this year were chosen because of their remarkable success and because they are all excellent role models to other aspiring female business owners,” Suzi said.
