I’m about to share a killer strategy with you. The one I perfected for years that got me exactly where I deserved to go.
Nowhere…
That strategy is denial. It works a treat when you love playing small with your ideas, and protected from the unknown.
If you want to stay stuck exactly where you are, I can’t recommend it highly enough.
I should know, I tried it for years. Never fully admitting to myself how much I was hiding. Hiding from my ideas, my possibility and my truth.
Is Denial robbing you?
As much as I felt denial was my secret strategy, keeping me safe from what I needed to do, it was also robbing me of the future that was waiting for me.
A future where I am able to see more potential than I thought possible. A future where I get to be my best self and live a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.
Is it Denial or am I just busy?
Now I’m a lot more aware of when my denial strategy is creeping back in, but perhaps you haven’t realised that you’ve been adopting it too.
We play the denial card more often than we care to admit.
We get really good at convincing ourselves that we’re not in denial, and in total control. We’re doing #allthethings, but just can’t seem to figure out why success hasn’t found us yet.
The problem is that each time we have to do something that scares us, or we’re not sure what to do, we can slip into denial.
We can convince ourselves that it’s not important, it’s not the right time or we’re just not ready, and distract ourselves with other things that seem important at the time.
How do I ditch the Denial Strategy?
Being honest about it is the first step to ditching denial from your resource kit. So I invite you to be honest with yourself…
What are you hiding from?
What are you too scared to admit?
What are you trying to avoid doing?
Now that we have that part sorted, it’s time to stay honest with yourself and accountable to the bigger dreams that you have.
Denial is not a strategy for success, but it is the perfect strategy if you want to continue to play small.
