Founder of Digestive Detective, Ange Sinclair spent her life struggling with digestion. Years of stomach pain, loads of stress and an emergency gallbladder removal sent Ange in search of a cure. She decided to take her gut health into her own hands.
As a stay-at-home mom to three children, Ange started studying herbal medicine. She then went on to study Naturopathy, getting not one degree but three! Ange has spent the last four years teaching others to nourish their body through a combination of lifestyle changes, herbs and high quality supplements.
Ange’s Business Philosophy:
“The more I can help people get what they want, the more I can get what I want.”
Ange’s advice for potential business owners:
- Know WHY you’re going into business
- Focus on finding your IDEAL client
- Choose the media platform that works for your business
Ange joined the HerBusiness Network to gain connections and grow her network as a solopreneur. Despite conceived perceptions, she believes that it is possible to make money as a naturopath while serving people.
Ange’s favourite entrepreneur is Scott Harrison. Founder and CEO of charity: water.
Scott transformed his life from working as a night club and party promoter to developing a non-profit organisation that brings clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. Ange admires Scott’s business strategy; he developed two sides to the business so private donors cover operation costs and 100 % of the charitable proceeds go to the field.
In Ange’s IDEAL business she would have an online presence to serve many clients at once. Because naturopaths have one of the highest drop out rates, only 5 precent stat in business, Ange would prefer to hire naturopaths to help run her business and provide content. She would also provide services that allow others to educate themselves on gut health.
In an effort to reach her ideal business, Ange has plans to create an online self-guide and membership service. She is striving to scale the business so one day she can be “working on the business not in the business”.
