“I am driven to facilitate the awakening and uncovering of our inner light so we can shine bright and get started on doing whatever important work we are here to do in the world, no matter how big or small.”
Amy Lou Wilson of Yoga Seeds is a passionate advocate of global mindfulness education for the 21st century. She is the founder of Yoga Seeds, teaching mindful movement, breath work and personal development to children, adolescents and staff within the early childhood and state school system. She also operates within the corporate sector, facilitating regular meditation, yoga and mindfulness workshops within the local government for Brisbane City Council staff and was responsible for developing and facilitating the wellness component of the Federal Government’s DFAT Australia Awards Women’s Leadership Program.
Prior to founding Yoga Seeds, Amy spent 10 years devoted to raising a thriving tribe whilst on a personal quest for growth. Alongside this she has also held a sales role for an organic health food company, worked as a children’s entertainer, yoga teacher and an actor.
Amy combines her passions of physical health, mental well being, performance and personal development to create a dynamic, playful & interactive classes designed to help children & their caregivers & educators realise their potential and power.
Amy joined the HerBusiness Network earlier this year and says “Undoubtedly the main benefit for me personally has been connecting with a network of generous, gutsy, growth minded women who are paving their own path. I am an extrovert and have found the road of sole trader to be quite isolating at times. I have very few real life women friends who run their own business, so it’s wonderful to have a semi-regular connection with women who get the trials, tribulations and triumphs that being in business for yourself can bring.”
Like most modern women, Amy wears many different hats. Whether it’s as a mother, yoga teacher, coach, actor, mentor or friend, Amy feels it is her life’s work to help build empathy and compassion for ourselves and one another.
