Grow Your Productivity, Profit and Operation with Business Performance HQ Last week, former surf shop owner Alycia Edgar launched Business Performance HQ, a service for small business owners in the Geelong and Surf Coast region. Alycia is an accountant who has been a director of a thriving accounting practice for more than five years. She says Business Performance HQ is designed to help both new small business owners and more established entrepreneurs in the region.
“For years, I’ve heard business owners complain that they want more out of their accountants than someone who will crunch the numbers and fill in their tax returns,” says Alycia. “They want someone who understands their finances, but who can also guide them on growing their business and implementing systems that are going to improve their productivity and profit. Business Performance HQ was created to fulfil this need.”
Business Performance HQ not only provides accounting services, but also one-on-one advice on improving productivity and revenue.
It holds webinars, workshops and networking events for business owners to connect with others in the region through Bizz3228.
“Productivity is the poor cousin of accounting,” says Alycia. “All business owners know that it’s good to be more productive, but they don’t necessarily know that they can put specific strategies in place to make that happen. “Our clients find that when they get serious about productivity – and work with us to improve their work processes – their revenue and profit increases. It may sometimes just take a small tweak, but that can make a big difference. Sometimes, it’s takes someone from outside their own business to help identify where those small improvements can be made.”
Alycia is passionate about what Business Performance HQ can bring to the local community.
“I love helping people get the best out of their business,” she says. “I meet too many business owners who think that numbers and systems are too hard to tackle. But I get a lot out of demystifying it for them. The a-ha moments are priceless.”
She says that the new financial year is a popular time for business owners to take stock about their accounting systems.
“It’s like a fresh start, and there’s no better time to start making changes in your business that the beginning of a new financial year,” she says. “You can virtually start with a clean slate and create the systems that you really know will work for your business goals. Of course, there will be a transition period as you extract yourself from whatever you were doing before. But that’s often easier than you think and we can help with that.”
