Tina Tower, HerBusiness Correspondent and founder of Begin Bright, shared a few up notes from Day Five.
There was a segment put on by the Australian Government about APAC and encouraged people to move to Australia to start their businesses. A representative from each state was present, and they informed people of numerous grants to help businesses coming to Australia. There is massive support for fintech companies, especially if you are a woman in the industry. If you are a businesswomen in Australia focusing in fintech, it is possible that you might qualify for some of the grants, so check your local governments websites to get more information.
The National Geographic CEO, Gary Knell, was on a panel with 3 National Geographic explorers. They talked about all the event happening in the world around us, especially climate change. Deforestation is the biggest contributor to climate change, and they encouraged everyone to do their part in fixing it. One way was to just be more curious – learn more about it by reading National Geographic articles and pay attention to what is in your food.
Like the government of Australia, National Geographic is also offering grants to people in science, exploring, teaching, photography and other industries who are willing to help them expand their reach.
Lastly Tina went to see Kesha, an American pop-singer, talk about cyberbullying on the internet. Her best advice – don’t give people your power. Just ignore the nasty comments and keep moving.
