Sales are the lifeblood of your business.
But for many businesses sales can be very “ad hoc” and marketing is very often reactive, rather than proactive – meaning you can be really busy one month and quiet the next, and suffering from a real peak and trough in your cashflow as a result and that can be hugely stressful.
Tipping Point businesses find a way to create repeatable results with their sales and marketing – they understand who their ideal client is and they have a marketing system that leverages the power of automation so they can continue to grow and not have to constantly be re-inventing the wheel or chasing bright shiny objects.
One of the big tipping points in our business came when we began to embrace online marketing. In both HerBusiness and my events business, we’d done a lot of direct mail and “offline” marketing and in the mid 90s we were early adopters of things like websites and email marketing.
Again, I had to go and put myself in the learner’s seat, finding wonderful experts who helped me piece together our marketing strategy. Even today, we are constantly learning about what’s working – because your market is always changing and you need to plan to change with it – failing to do that can leave you at the stuck point – or worse, still the decline point.
Today we market using webinars, podcasts, videos, and social media – and our website is the main gateway for new clients – and we were quick to try these new methods when they became available.
